Use of recycling materials

Vitrified FCM (Fly Ash and Cement Mixture) was adopted as a backfill material of the quay in the construction of quay in the outer harbor area of Sakai Port (-14m) executed by Sakai Port Construction Office in the period between July and November of the year 1998. Recycled coal ash was used in this construction as a backfill material, while stone material was typically used in the conventional constructions.

A mixture of cement and coal ash was vitrified and used for the backfill.
